A woman from Greater Noida became a victim of an online fraud of Rs 51.50 lakh. Scammers lured him of huge profits in stock trading and showed him through a fake app that his investment was increasing rapidly. The woman was initially added to a WhatsApp group, where she was taken into confidence by giving Amazon gift voucher. This was then provoked for investment and when he imposed lakhs of rupees, the thugs broke into contact with him. The woman lodged a complaint with the cybercrime police, after which an amount of Rs 4.80 lakh has been freezed. The police is now trying to recover the rest of the money.
