Xiaomi SU7 electric sedans 30000 units recalls for autonomous parking system problem

Xiaomi has announced a recall of 30,931 units of the Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan. These cars have been recalled in China due to a software issue affecting the car’s autonomous parking system. The recall involves 30,931 units of the SU7 standard variant manufactured between February 6, 2024, and November 26, 2024. This recall includes cars with internal numbers BJ7000MBEVR2, XMA7000MBEVR2 and XMA7000MBEVR5. Xiaomi attributed the glitch to timing synchronization within the cloud service that supports the autonomous parking system. The company has made improvements on the cloud side and added additional safe guards to the smart parking assistant system. According to Xiaomi, following these steps completely eliminates the possibility of the problem recurring.

Customers benefit from OTA updates

Xiaomi is rolling out a software update via OTA after two months of testing and verification to make the solution effective. This means SU7 users can get their cars fixed without scheduling a service appointment or visiting a service centre. They will be notified about the update and can easily install it through their car’s built-in internet connection.
