Bharti Airtel said in a press release that with the help of this solution, about 1 million spammers are identified per day on its network. Six percent of the total calls on the company’s network and about two percent of all SMS have been identified as spam. The most spam calls are obtained in the capital Delhi. In the last two and a half months, Bharti Airtel has warned more than 25 crore subscribers of suspicious calls. The company has found that there has been a reduction of 12 percent in answering the spam calls of subscribers.
After Delhi, most spam calls start from Mumbai and Karnataka. Gujarat has the highest number of spam messages. This is followed by Kolkata and Uttar Pradesh. Bharti Airtel has said that in the last two and a half months, there has been a warning regarding about 80 lakh spam messages. The company is preparing to improve its 5G network. For this, Airtel has recently given a contract of millions of dollars to Finland’s telecom equipment maker Nokia. Nokia reported that the deal includes its 5G airscale portfolio using equipment.
The company plans to increase its coverage and capacity. For this, Nokia has been given this contract. It also includes modernization of Airtel’s existing 4G network with multiband radios and baseband equipment. These equipment can also support 5G network. For the last two decades, Airtel has been using Nokia’s telecom equipment to strengthen its network. Airtel may soon buy Tata Play’s Direct-to-Hom (DTH) business. Negotiations are going on between the two companies. However, Tata Play’s DTH service is running in deficit. Buying this business will increase the presence of the company’s digital TV segment.
