Maruti Suzuki to Soon Launch E Vitara Electric SUV, Range of almost 500 km, Tesla

The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle (EV) E Vitara may be launched soon. It was displayed at the recently held Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo. The company has given information about the range of E Vitara and some specifications.

Its cabin has been revealed in a recently posted teaser by Maruti Suzuki. The single charge of this electric SUV will be about 500 kilometers. E Vitara may have options for two battery packs of 49 kwh and 61 kwh. Its 49 kwh battery variant can generate a maximum power of 142 bhp and peak torque of 189 Nm. E Vitara will have a 61 kwh battery variant 172 bhp power and 189 Nm peak torque. The dual-tone in this electric SUV is with squeeze-off elements on the interior dashboard.

E Vitara has a dual integrated screen, which acts as an infotainment system and a display of a digital driver. It has a two-spoke steering vehicle. The company will soon give information about the price and booking of E Vitara. Maruti Suzuki plans to include six EV models in its portfolio in the coming years. The manufacturing of E Vitara will be on the Heartect-E platform designed especially for battery-powered electric vehicles. It has two separate electric excels on the front and rear. Evitara has a trail mode for driving on poor routes.

This electric SUV has a single-speed drive transmission. EV’s share in the total sales of vehicles in the country is less than 10 percent. After the US and China, India is the third largest automobile market in the world. Despite this, the number of EVs in the country is less. However, the trend of reduction in international sales of EV is not visible in India. Measures are also being taken by the Central Government to promote EV. Major electric vehicle companies like China’s byd are already present in the country. These companies are preparing to increase their market share with new models.
