In February, the company’s retail sales stood at 4,956 units. It was 4,261 units in the same month of last year. EV portfolio of Mg Motor includes ComeT EV, Windsor EV and ZS EV. The company has helped to increase the stake in this segment from the Windsor EV. The manufacturing of this electric crossover last month exceeded 15,000 units. It is being manufactured in MG Motor’s Halol factory in Gujarat. The company had said that it is getting around 200 bookings per day for Windsor EV. To fulfill its increasing demand, the company has prepared to increase the capacity of its factory.
Recently, the price of this electric crossover was increased by about Rs 50,000. Windsor EV prices are increased between Rs 13,99,800 to Rs 15,99,800 (ex-showroom). The company is providing eight years or 1,60,000 km warranty on this electric crossover battery. On Dussehra last year, the company started delivery to the customers of Windsor EV. It has LED lights connected to both front and rear.
Windsor EV has a sedan comfort and SUV -like space. It has been made available in three variants – Excite, Exclusive and Essence. This electric crossover is compete with Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Motors’ Nexon Ev. Its front is the Mg logo below the LED DRL strip connected to its front. It has a charging port on the front left fender. It has been made available in four colors – Pearl White, Clay Beige, Turquoise Green and Starburst Black. This is the first EV for which the option of battery as a service is available. With this option, the initial price of Windsor EV will decrease. However, it will have to pay an additional battery rental of Rs 3.5 per km.
