Earlier this year, the company had increased the price by three percent. Tata Motors has reported that it has decided to increase the price of vehicles to reduce the impact of input cost. Portfolio of the company’s electric vehicles includes Tiago Ev, Tigor EV, Punch Ev and CurvV EV. Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Harrier EV soon. This electric SUV was introduced at Bharat Mobility Expo.
Its design is similar to Harrier with internal combustion engine (ice). However, some special EV elements in it distinguish it from petrol -powered Harrier. It has a new design for the close-off grille bumper. In addition, there are LED DRLs with Velkam and Goodbye Animsions. This electric SUV has a new design of alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. Its interior is almost identical to petrol powered Harrier. It has a 12.3 -inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The Harrier EV has a 10.3 inch instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 10 speakers JBL sound systems. It has seven airbags for safety, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, 360 degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability control and TPMS.
The company’s EV sales have declined in the current financial year. Along with this, there has been a decrease in the company’s market share in this market. The collision from companies like MG Motor is a big reason behind this. In February, EV sales of Tata Motors declined by about 23 percent to 5,343 units on a year-by-year basis. Recently, Tata Motors has started a trial of trucks using hydrogen as fuel.
