Was there a world on Earth before our world that sank Scientists found evidence

There is still a lot to be discovered about what is hidden inside the Earth. A team of geophysicists has gathered new information about the interior of the Earth. Scientists have discovered the remains of submerged tectonic plates far from the traditional plate boundaries of the interior. This research has been done by a team from ETH Zurich and California Institute of Technology. In fact, till now scientists have been studying the waves generated by earthquakes to estimate the structure of the Earth. Now they have discovered areas under the Earth like tectonic plates, which are under the oceans. This raises the question whether there was any world on Earth before our world, which drowned?

According to the report, tectonic plate has also been detected under the western Pacific Ocean. Current tectonic theories say that there should not be any remains of tectonic plates, but evidence of such remains has been found.

Researchers say that such areas in the Earth’s mantle are more widespread than ever before. Such discoveries challenge existing theories. This suggests that old material may remain present in the mantle even after subduction events have stopped beneath the Earth.

This research is just a sample of all the research being done regarding the inner part of the Earth. It is going to take a long time for scientists to understand the secrets hidden inside the Earth. Because it is impossible for any machine to reach so deep under the earth, everything is detected by keeping the wave patterns in mind.

What is Earth’s Mantle?

Our earth mainly has three layers. Among these, the uppermost thin surface, on which water, soil, life etc. are present, is called crust. Below this is the mantle made of minerals, which goes up to the innermost and third layer – the core. The core is said to be filled with liquids where there is so much heat that nothing can exist in solid form.
